I stopped by last Thursday with a gas cover that wouldn't open on my GTI Jetta. Jeff got it opened for me and fixed it....at no charge!! I am so blessed, as I live in a different town and was in Haggersville for an appointment. Thanks to everyone at Smout's!!
This is by far the best mechanic I have ever used. Jeff and his whole team so efficient, knowledgeable, kind, great to deal with. A super clean waiting room and washroom, they did the most excellent work for the most affordable price. I have just purchased a 1992 Volkswagen Eurovan campervan and without his help there is no way I could have made this dream come true! All other mechanics for this vehicle were difficult to work with, never answered the phone and said that many of the fixes parts could not be done or parts could not be found. He did an appraisal, multiple fixes (instead of replacing everything) safety certificate, in such great time. He was willing to give me so much advice, which I appreciated given how busy he was. I really can't say enough about this business, its a unique gem! Definitely my go to place now, worth the drive!!
Experienced VW repair. Had the problem diagnosed and repaired minutes. Two other mechanics diagnosed and estimate the problem incorrectly. Very reasonable prices! Excellent service and so honest & trustworthy! Thank you guys for the amazing service!
I was there to get safety done on the 29th of March and let me tell you they are PROFESSIONAL, KIND, CARE about their customers, and not so much of a secret now CHEAP! I recommend this place to everyone I know and definitely would do business with Smout's Garage again.

You know sometimes bringing your car for more than an oil change is like going to the dentist for more than a cleaning , I’ll admit that sometimes I am not in the best moods but after Jeff worked on all my Volks through the decades he’s also completed the work beyond my best expectations and half the cost. Everytime I left that garage Jeff had few words but the car was repaired right and I always had a big smile for Jeff . Remember Jeff is a busy man dealing with so many different car problems day in day out. He’s go, go, go all day all week so don’t expect a smile every time you meet Jeff. You’re not paying for the smile. If it were’nt for Jeff I wouldn’t have been on my forth Volkswagon . Thanks Jeff.
I thought this garage was well run when first there in July 2021. Things took a bit long, but it was a pandemic, and the work was right. Dropped off my Toyota Tacoma Jan 06/2022, and finally had to take it back march 21/2022. There was literally Zero work done to the vehicle over 2.5 months. Imagine: zero work done I was specifically told it had the fluids had been changed, they were not. Not even a basic engine oil change. I brought the truck in for an engine running rich, and Im pretty sure it just sat for a winter, neglected. Mr Smout, Im not sure what your problem was, but I was very patient and respectful. Yet you treated my vehicle like it didn't exist, despite being given effectively a blank check. If you didnt want the work, the least you could have done was not lie to me, and waste my time over literal months and bi-weekly phone calls (as i was trying not to pester you). Good luck to you, Sir
